Hot Air Heaters

HOT AIR HEATERS (GTZ) that burn various forms of biomass enable the production of hot air. They adapt to existing spaces and have a wide range of applications:

  • AGRICULTURE – heating poultry farms and greenhouses; drying grains, hops, hay bales, and other crops,
  • INDUSTRY – heating industrial halls,
  • MULTIPURPOSE USE – with a single HAG, for example, we can heat spaces and dry plants.

Solution to High Energy Costs

We developed GTZ in response to the constant rise in fossil fuel prices, which is driving up heating costs as well as costs in the agricultural and industrial sectors. It enables:

burning biomass of varying quality, size, and moisture content (up to 60%),

high energy efficiency

constant heating temperature

optimal utilization

Construction

A specially designed combustion chamber with side fireclay lining is integrated beneath the generator’s hot-air heat exchanger. It consists of an inclined grate with a carriage, hydraulics, and a common ash removal system connected to the main carriage drive. Below the inclined grate is the zone for primary combustion air. Other zones for secondary combustion air are located laterally above the inclined grate. Primary and secondary air can be supplied from the environment in which the generator is located, or it can be supplied preheated through the heat exchanger using a flue gas fan, which creates negative pressure in the furnace. A frequency-controlled flue gas fan and a vacuum gauge are installed to regulate the combustion air vacuum.

The advantage of our system is that we can also utilize the energy of the flue gases. These can be used to heat water via an economizer or to preheat the air that is fed into the primary and secondary air zones in the combustion chamber. If there is no need for hot-air heating, e.g., during the summer, we can heat only the hot-water heat exchanger using the generator at minimum power. This heats only the water.

Features

  • The inclined moving grate ensures optimal combustion results. It forms the basis of high-quality industrial systems for burning moist fuels. The grates move the fuel and ash without mixing them, ensuring that the fuel burns completely.
  • Fuel: a wide variety of wood residues (chips with up to 55% moisture content, pellets up to 50 mm) and other biomass.
  • The ability to utilize flue gas temperatures for water heating enables high energy efficiency.
  • POWER 100 – 990 kW, customized to the customer’s needs.
  • Continuous intake and heating of fresh outside air ensures air exchange in the rooms.
  • Automatic system control and monitoring.
  • Easy adjustment when using different fuels.
